Graham Tempest is a British-American author of crime fiction and optimistic golfer who divides his time between England and the United States.
Indecisive, both geographically and career-wise, he was heading for the British navy when he veered off course and trained instead as an engineer, spending time in the Persian Gulf. Then he changed course again and became an accountant in London, working in Brazil, France and South Africa before emigrating to Los Angeles where he lived down at the beach and earned a living preparing income tax returns.
Oliver Steele, a main character in his novels, is a well-mannered accountant who, under pressure, kills people. Tempest admits to a partial resemblance.
